Insurance Case
Guaranteed insurable rider (GIR):
Parents purchase a life insurance policy for their 12-year-old daughter. The basic coverage was $50,000 with the Guaranteed Insurable Rider (GIR) coverage of $50,000. When she was 16, her parents wanted to increase the life coverage. However, due to her mental sickness, the application was denied by the life insurance company. Fortunately, due to reason that she has the Guaranteed Insurability Rider (GIR) in her life insurance policy, she was guaranteed to add additional $50,000 each time from age 22, 28, 31, 34, 40, to 43 respectively. The total life insurance coverage for her is $400,000. Now she is mother of two. She is grateful that here parents made the right option for her life insurance.
